Claude Task: 13 Foundational Papers Claim-Evidence Matrix
You are Claude running through the claude-reviewer Hermes profile. Hermes is the orchestrator and verifier. Work only inside:

Goal
Continue the ECC Research Atlas system build by creating a claim-evidence matrix for the 13 foundational papers and summarizing evidence coverage by Atlas concept node. This is the next step after all 13 PDFs/source notes/paper cards and foundational graph nodes were created.
Context
Current completed state:
- 13/13 foundational papers preserved under
00_sources/foundational_papers/originals/. - 13/13 extracted text under
00_sources/foundational_papers/extracted_text/. - 13/13 source notes under
00_sources/foundational_papers/source_notes/. - 13/13 paper cards under
03_papers/. - Foundational graph pass completed.
- New concept nodes created:
interface_properties,surface_treatment,matrix_micro_spalling,cook_gordon_effect,two_way_debonding.
Non-negotiable constraints
- Do not fabricate exact page numbers, figure numbers, table numbers, equations, DOI, or numerical values.
- If exact page/figure/table/equation is not directly visible in the source note or full text, use
needs verification. - Do not edit raw PDFs or raw extracted text.
- Do not edit
06_lab_position/. - Keep professor/lab-specific integration deferred.
- Use UTF-8-sig for CSV files.
- Distinguish paper evidence from Atlas interpretation.
Source files to inspect
03_papers/foundational_paper_cards_index.md- all 13 paper cards in

Deliverables
A. Foundational papers claim-evidence matrix CSV
Create:
07_visualization/foundational_papers_claim_evidence_matrix.csv
Required columns:
paper_id,paper_card,year,atlas_node,atlas_file,claim,evidence_type,evidence_summary,source_note,full_text_path,page_or_section,figure_table_equation,status,notes
Requirements:
- At least 60 data rows plus header.
- Cover all 13 papers.
- Cover at least these Atlas nodes:
strain_hardening_criteriafiber_bridging_lawflaw_designfiber_dispersionprocessing_rheologyinterface_propertiesdirect_tensile_testcrack_width_distributiondistributed_microcrackingmicromechanics_based_designstatusallowed values:verified_from_source_noteverified_from_full_textneeds_page_verificationneeds_figure_table_verificationneeds_doi_or_bibliographic_verification
B. Concept evidence coverage report
Create:
07_visualization/concept_evidence_coverage_report.md
Include:
- row counts by atlas_node from the matrix.
- strongest evidence-backed nodes.
- weak/under-evidenced nodes.
- nodes with only seed/book evidence but little paper evidence.
- recommendations for next evidence upgrade.
C. Foundational paper evidence ledger
Create:
03_papers/foundational_paper_evidence_ledger.md
For each of 13 papers, summarize:
- main claim contribution.
- Atlas nodes supported.
- evidence rows count.
- unresolved verification needs.
D. Update integration report
Update:
07_visualization/foundational_paper_integration_report.md
Add a section indicating:
- claim-evidence matrix created.
- number of rows.
- all 13 papers covered.
- next verification tasks.
E. Do not update concept nodes yet
Do not edit concept nodes in this pass except if absolutely necessary. This pass is matrix/ledger/report only.
Suggested claim coverage by paper
Use this only as a guide, not as a substitute for inspecting paper cards/source notes:
- Li & Leung 1992 — steady-state cracking, multiple cracking, failure mechanism map.
- Lin & Li 1997 — slip-hardening interface, σ(δ), fracture energy, critical fiber volume.
- Redon et al. 2001 —
G_d,τ0,β, PVA interface measurement, oil coating. - Li, Wang & Wu 2001 — PVA-ECC >4% strain, crack width <100 µm, PVA-ECC direct tension.
- Li et al. 2002 — interface tailoring, oiling content, optimal bond window, PVA-ECC strain capacity.
- Wang & Li 2004 — artificial flaw design,
c_mc, saturated multiple cracking restoration. - Kanda & Li 2006 — stress and energy performance indices,
σ_peak/(σ_fc)_i > 1.3,J_b'/J_tip > 2.7. - Li & Wang 2006 — microstructure variability, fiber/flaw randomness, macro property variation.
- Yang et al. 2008 — improved
σ(δ)law, two-way pullout, micro-spalling, Cook-Gordon, crack width. - Zhou et al. 2012 — mixing sequence, fiber distribution coefficient, mechanical improvement.
- Li & Li 2012/2013 — rheology, plastic viscosity, Marsh cone flow, fiber dispersion, robust properties.

Verification before finishing
Verify:
- CSV exists and has at least 61 lines including header;
- all 13 paper IDs appear at least once;
- required concept nodes appear at least once;
- coverage report exists;
- evidence ledger exists;
- integration report updated;
- no file under
originals/,extracted_text/, or06_lab_position/was modified.
Return concise completion summary with counts and unresolved blockers.
